This is a really interesting conversation. And maybe it is a long time that we (I/we in the west) should be looking at human health in a different way. And in fact this is a way of looking at the human biome that a lot of people have been approaching it for quite some time.
Humans are ecosystems not single organisms. It is a shared space. Maybe, just maybe, the human consciousness is not even the dominant driving force; of the human body, the human mind, the human societies around the world and across history. Maybe bacteria are and always have been in the driving seat.
